Reasons for using an Ionic Foot Bath Detox Everyday living in today's polluted and stressful environment with chemicals in the form of pesticides, additives and preservatives found in all food, water, and beauty products can burden our body. The body's excretions pathways may be able to counteract these negative influences for a time, yet become overwhelmed after long term exposure resulting in the symptoms below. This build up of toxins throughout the body compromises our health and appearance. Symptoms of someone in need of a detox may include:
Bags under the eyes
Spots and acne
Difficulty waking up
Eczema and Psoriasis
How does it work? The foot bath or tub is filled with salt water and an electrical current, a convertor (array) is placed in the water. The array has two electrodes, one produces positive electrons, the other negative electrons. These positive or negative charged electrons are called ions, that's why it is named Ionic Foot Bath. The salt acts as a conducter (electrolyte) for the electrons to pass through the water. You sit on a comfortable chair and place both feet in the water. The electric current is only mild and you do not feel much. You may feel a little tingling sensation in your feet, but that's all. The ions make their way into the body through the feet. The session takes around 30 minutes. During the session you can read something or watch the water changing the color. After a while, the water starts to turn yellow/orange and gets dark brownish at the end of the session. This is a normal reaction of the electrolysis in the water and the metals from the converter. Some claims have been made, that the color is from the toxins that are released out of the body. In any way, the color of the water can vary from person to person. It is also remarkable to see, that after a few sessions the water does not get that dark brown any more.
