Why do I teach cooking classes? Well, mostly because so many people don't know how to cook or they don't know how to cook a healthy meal. No, opening up a can of veggies and heating it up in the microwave is not cooking. I'm talking about planning a healthy, well balanced meal. Shopping for the ingredients and cooking it. Cooking a meal that makes you look forward to sitting down at the table and enjoying the fruits of your labor. That kind of cooking. Get it?
No, it's not hard to do and yes, you can do it. It just takes experimentation (which can be fun), practice and patience. Sometimes it doesn't even take that.
What makes me a good person to teach you how to cook? Mainly, because I've been cooking since I was about 12 years old. I grew up in Columbia, Tennessee. Yep, that's in the South. Guess who taught me how to cook. My grand mother, my great aunt, my aunts, my mother and a cousin or two. I come from two families with deep Southern roots of farming and raising their own food. Believe me, these people know how to cook! Ever heard of Clifty Farm Country Hams? They're kin folk. Are you starting to get an idea of what kind of cook I am?
My cooking roots are deep in Southern cooking but, I have more to add than just that. I have received an education in nutrition from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I've learned how to heal myself with food. I've learned how to cook and to eat to heal and maintain a healthy body. So, if you're concerned about diabetes, heart health, gut issues, food allergies or sensitivities, etc. then I can teach you what's good for you and what isn't.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation which assists the body in its natural healing processes. Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If your “life force energy” is low, then you may feel tired or more likely become sick. When your life force energy is high, you feel happy, healthy and handle stress much better.
May 18 & 19, 2019 Location: a Private Residence on Lake Barkley in Cadiz, KY
According to Wikipedia, a foodie is a person who has an ardent or refined interest in food and who eats food not out of hunger but due to their interest or hobby. The terms "gastronome" and "gourmet" (a connoisseur of good food; a person with a discerning palate) define the same thing, i.e. a person who enjoys food for pleasure.

Health & Lifestyle Coaching
I bring a holistic approach to my coaching, this means I look at all areas of your life and how they are connected. As an herbalist and nutritionist, I use things like sunshine, water, air, food, herbs and other modalities to facilitate healing within. I help you to implement healthy changes that will affect your overall lifestyle. I call it a lifestyle makeover with an emphasis on health and nutrition.
For example, does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to choose foods that nourish or harm your body? Does your family history play a role in your health? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising?
We will work together to understand how all parts of your life come together to affect your life as a whole. I will help you to get from where you are to where you want to be.
As your coach I will help you to do things like…
Get unstuck
Create healthy habits in your life and in your diet
Improve your relationships
Connect to your life purpose and your inner passions
Identify and reach your goals
Create a stress management system that works for you
Deal with life changes
I will guide you to implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health. I believe our bodies were designed with the capacity to heal themselves naturally. It is my passion to work alongside my clients to support and teach them to create an environment both internal and external that will assist their bodies in the healing process.
