My spiritual journey started over 15 years ago. At the time I really didn’t understand that there was a difference between religion (which I was brought up in) and spirituality (which life taught me about).
I have learned a lot in my 55+ years. The majority of which I learned before I was even 45 years old. I have always known I was an “old soul” even before I knew what that was. I always fit in better with people who were older than me. It is hard for me to relate to people are younger and not as experienced in life. My life lessons that I learned early on led me to experience a “dark night of the soul”, an existential crisis, loss after loss, things never working out as I thought they should (ie. it worked for everyone else, why not me?), etc. and many of these I still experience from time to time today as a reminder that life is circular and not linear. All of these life lessons brought me to learn about alternative methods of healing. Things that the Western culture didn’t address. At least not in my experiences. I have lived through a “dark night of the soul”. Although it was a long time before I figured out that is what I was going through. Once I did, I was able to retrieve the lost part of my soul, very awkwardly since I really had no direction on how to do that at the time. It was trial and error. There was no one that I could find at the time who could say “this is what you are experiencing and this is how you can fix it”. I really wish I had known about the 8 Extraordinary Meridians at that time. But, everything comes to us when it is time. So, fast forward several years… I discovered stones and crystals so innocently. They were pretty and sparkly. Who doesn’t like pretty and sparkly?! I wanted to have some in my house to decorate at first. Later, it was because I learned that they all carry a vibration that influences their environment. So, I started carrying them around in my purse or pocket, took them to work, put them in my car and garden. Now, they are everywhere! LOL I have learned and experienced first hand how they can change your mood, help make an ache or pain feel better, take you to a deeper level when meditating, help with sleep, clear negative energy from a room and more. But, it wasn’t until I opened my mind and heart to the possibility that they could do these things that I realized they were really doing them. Even western medicine has proven that what you believe influences how healing takes place in your body and mind. For example: the placebo effect and power of positive thinking are just a couple. Now, fast forward a little more, cause this is getting kinda long. I met a woman named Sarah Thomas at an herbal conference I went to in North Carolina. She is an Acupuncturist. She didn’t talk about herbs or acupuncture, she talked about crystals and stones. Crazy right?! It was an herbal conference after all. She talked about Chinese Medicine and how they were some of the oldest herbalists. Their books and records proved it. But, she also talked about how in the Daoist traditions they were also ancient stone healers. Meaning they used stones and crystals to heal people. They would grind up stones for various ailments, make elixirs, place them on the body, meditate with them, etc.. And that’s when it started clicking with me. How these stone and crystals that I thought were so pretty and sparkly and that I was compelled to buy even though I didn’t know why, were coming to me. So I could work with them. Over the years, I have taken many of Sarah’s classes as well as classes from others about crystals and stones. During the pandemic when everyone was shifting to online classes, gatherings and what not, Sarah put out a class about Stone Medicine - The 8 Extraordinary Meridians and I KNEW then that I had to learn about it so I could help others heal in a way that was needed even though people may not realize it. So, yeah, this is not massage but, I can and I do use Cranio Sacral therapy with it, which is considered a massage modality. If you got this newsletter, it is because you have gotten bodywork from me at some point in your life. And, if you have gotten bodywork from me, then you know that many times you may have experienced something a little “extra”. A subtle energy shift, a deep drop into a meditative state, seeing colors or spirit guides, or something else to this affect, like feeling “out of your body” at the end of your session. This Stone Medicine compliments that “extra” part of my healing/massage or whatever you want to call it, so well. So, if you like the “extra” part of my work. Then you will probably really benefit from the Stone Medicine. To be honest, if you are still coming to me for bodywork then that is exactly why you come to me, because of the “extra”. It is not for everyone, because not everyone is ready to work on that part of their being. It can make you uncomfortable or bring up stuff and you don’t really know why or what to do with it but, in the end, you feel better and feel like you are at a new level in your life. The stones and crystals can make that part of the healing process smoother/easier and can even “speed it up”. Curious? Have questions? Want to more about how it could help you? Then reach out! I don’t bite. I’d love to talk to you about my new work and how it can help you.
